Feeling 'invited' back

After listening to my adult kids extol the virtues of the Fiorio team, I decided it was time for me to discover my own delight (or not) by booking an appointment myself. It's kind of like going to a movie with rave reviews - it takes a bit more to be impressed with a higher level of expectation has been created. My daughter reported that her haircuts by Daniel at Fiorio Yorkville were super easy to maintain - this was a major attractor for me to book with Daniel. I didn't know anyone who had experience with their colourists, so I booked with Marc as he was recommended by the front desk.


I arrived on time to a warm, prompt greeting and the offer to have my coat hung.  The last two salons I've been to, I was greeting finely enough - but also asked to wait. I get that no one can precisely predict how long appointments take, and I don't mind waiting - when it pushes past the 30 minute mark, that 'less than valued' feeling starts to kick in....)


I was immediately offered a beverage and introduced to the people that would be helping me.  A person left the front desk and let Daniel and Marc know I was there - and they came out and introduced themselves, and got busy with 'relationship building' immediately. Very impressive! Daniel recalled my daughter and asked after her pregnancy - good memory! They both talked to me about my vision and what I was seeking before they made recommendations, and took the time to co-ordinate with each other on what the 'finished product' would look like. Daniel's attention to detail and checking in with me about his ideas of a quite different hairstyle than what I had walked in with signaled respect and caring - socks were knocked off here! 


Marc was friendly and fun, and worked professionally and efficiently and then escorted me over to Daniel. More of the same - friendliness and humour on offer while he worked his magic.  BONUS - he noticed my eyebrows needed work and took it upon himself to touch them up before I left - it would have made perfect sense if he'd tried to sell me an eyebrow shaping on the spot - now I REALLY felt seen and taken care of!


The front desk saw me out with the same warmth as they offered on arrival.  I felt valued, great about the results, and like my money was well spent.  My experience was the invitation to return - the reinforcement of that invite was that my haircut is the finest I've had in ages and the easiest to care for, which is exactly what I was seeking.  I look forward to my next two already-booked appointments.  Oh yes, and my next visit included me booking an eyebrow shaping.
